My Tomb Raider Story
Me in my Tomb Raider t-shirt
By "story" I don't mean a fan story, I mean how I came about Tomb Raider, why I like it and my thoughts on the community.
I am one of the young Tomb Raider fans. I started playing Tomb Raider when I was about 2 years old. My father was interested in The Last Revelation, his first Tomb Raider game, and liked it so much he decided to but the first Tomb Raider and continue from the start. My brother being about 5 or 6 watched him play the gorgeous graphics, at the time, for ages. I seemed quite interested to and watched as well. We would both put up our chairs next to the computer and watch my dad play the games. My brother wasn't as interested though as he grew up. Me however, I was hooked!

My father would go off to cook dinner or something and I would watch Lara rock her head backwards and forwards before I realized the game was waiting for me to play it. I was very young at the time so it took me a while before I worked out the controls and found our after about 9 times that spikes could kill Lara. It was fun, nonetheless.
Soon I started obsessing over it. I still have a small Lara figure we got out of a cereal box years and years ago. I have that as my fondest and first memories of Lara. Although I do remember playing in the jungles of TR3 with the monkeys.

Around the age of 6 and 7 I got my Playstation 2 and played all of the Tomb Raiders on it non stop for hours. I even came across the amazing Stella Lune of tombraiders.net who had the best walkthroughs for me and my father to find. I have wrote to Stella about Tomb Raider Underworld only when I was 9 and I still keep on contact with her now.
I also came across many other members of the Tomb Raider community, and this is where I am at the moment. Only about a year ago I found the great video blogs by Katie Fleming and her amazing screenshots and stories who has inspired me greatly. This website wouldn't be here without her.
When I was younger I found a video on YouTube called a Let's Player. It was a man playing Anniversary and talking and swearing over the top of the gameplay. I was completly put off by this and never wathced another again until I came across Queen Crispy aka FMLcrispylara. Her and NathPlays Let's Plays were the first ones I ever watched. Well, properly at least. I would like to thank you guys and LiamJGreen for suporting me in my Let's Plays, website making and LEGO videos.
